Before we delve any further, let’s go over the spec sheet of these phones.
Snapdragon 625 vs Snapdragon 653
The Oppo F3 Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 653 chipset which runs on the A72 Cortex and is quicker and compared to the Snapdragon 625 (which runs on the A53 cortex) in the Zenfone 4 and Vivo V5 Plus. In terms of power consumption, the Snapdragon 653 chipset is a tad power hungry owing to the 28 nm process design. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 625 is built on the 14nm Fin-Fet technology which makes it a highly efficient and balanced as a processor.
Dual Camera Setup
The Oppo F3 Plus comes with a 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel wide angle sensor that complete its dual camera setup. The secondary lens has a 120-degree wide angle view which offers an incredible field of view of 120-degree, on pen and paper at least. On the other hand, we have the Vivo V5 Plus with its setup of 20-megapixel and 8-megapixel. The 20-megapixel lens is a Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. This lens together with the secondary 8-megapixel lens produces bokeh effects. Hence you get a Bokeh effect with depth-of-field on your selfies. Lastly, theZenfone 4 Selfie Pro sports a whopping 24-megapixel (Sony IMX362 12MP dual pixel sensor) and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The 12×2-megapixel combines with the 5-megapixel wide-angle f/1.8 lens to produce wide-angled pictures called Wefie. Apart from this, the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro also features a portrait mode which lets you take selfies with Bokeh effect.
Battery
While the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro is backed by a 3000mAh battery and should see you through a day, the Vivo V5 Plus is powered by a 3055mAh battery. On the other hand, the phablet sized Oppo F3 Plus is powered by a 4000mAh battery, so if you compare the battery specs of these three devices, the Oppo F4 Plus is clearly the sure shot winner.
Memory and Pricing
While the Oppo F3 Plus is priced at Rs. 27,990 for 64GB storage along with 4GB RAM, the Vivo V5 Plus retails at Rs. 23,499 for the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB variant. In contrast, the newly launched Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro will go on sale on September 21 as a Flipkart exclusive and will be priced at Rs 23,999. In terms of storage, it boasts of the same 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.
Which One to Buy?
All the three phones — Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, Oppo F3 Plus and the Vivo V5 Plus — pack in incredible camera specs for better and clearer selfies. But then, at the end of the day, it’s not only the camera features that make a good smartphone. Apart from the processor and the battery life, the software updates and security patches matter as much in a phone as the others. Out of the three, only the newly launched Zenfone Selfie Pro runs on Nougat while both the Oppo F3 Plus and Vivo V5 Plus are still on Marshmallow.
