Tegra graphics chips , do it so much better when compared to others. Some of the famous Tegra devices that are currently present in the market are HTC One X, Asus Transformer and Nexus 7. If you are a Tegra user you might already know about the fact that not all games are supported for these chips and there are some that need patching before you can enjoy the full graphics. But there are many games that are specially designed for Tegra devices that deliver superior graphics when compared to a normal 3D Android game. So let’s have a look at some of the best games that are currently available for these devices.

Riptide GP

Riptide is one of my most favorite games that I frequently I play on my HTC One X. Riptide is a simple water racing game with excellent graphics. With the support of Tegra processing power, the game deliverers a very life-like resemblance to water, reflection, shadow, textures and the related physics. Riptide can be considered as a racing game but instead of wheels and roads, it’s jet skies and canals. As a contender, you not only have to race against fellow opponents on a jet ski, but also show some in air stunts to grab additional points. The game also supports external Bluetooth and USB game controllers. If you are the kind of person who loves casual gaming and own a power Tegra device, Riptide is the best game you can download and enjoy. The game costs $1.99.

Samurai II: Vengeance

By the name Samurai II: Vengeance most of you might have imagined a trained ninja with a samurai blade fighting hordes of enemies. If you did imagine something similar, you are absolutely right. The game is about a legendary samurai who doesn’t have a master and vengeance is the only power that’s driving him and his blades. The game is all about blade fights, combos and making your way through dangerous traps. You will be ambushed by villains many times during the game and that’s when you have to show your skills of combos and secure power-ups. The game has amazing graphics detailing and counter sound. Trust me, I can keep on talking about this one without a pause. I love it! So sharpen your blades, improve your reflexes and download the game to fight like a samurai today. You’ll have to shell out a little more for this one – $2.99.

Grand Theft Auto III

Grand Theft Auto needs no introduction and if you are a gamer, you must already know it. The game has created a benchmark in the era of computer gaming and Grand Theft Auto III continues the legacy on Android devices. The game has been ported from the computer version that came out in around 2001 but it still has one of the best high quality graphics and superior gameplay. The game supports on-screen controls but the best way to enjoy the game is by using external controllers that are available online for a small price. The game is about adventure, strategy, third person shooting and reckless car driving. From what I believe, the game is never ending and with so many missions and tons of additional side missions, it’s worth the price tag of $4.99. Note: The game as some adult content and is not recommended for kids under 16 years of age.

Heroes Call

Heroes Call (UPDATE: This game is not available anymore) is a game related to warriors and dungeons, and has been optimized for Tegra devices to deliver extended graphics. The game reminds me of Diablo, a very famous game for the Windows platform because of the similarity in the weapons and enemies. The game is a role playing game (RPG) and is one of the best in its genre for Tegra devices. It has many elements to explore and you will never have the feeling that things are being repeated. And of course the best thing about the game is that it’s free.

DEAD TRIGGER

Dead Trigger is not one of my favorite games and the only reason behind that is because it’s related to zombies. I hate anything and everything related to the concept of zombies be it movies like Resident Evil or games like this one. But hey, that’s me, and there’s no reason why I should overlook its popularity and not include it in this list. If the feeling about zombies is not mutual, you will definitely like Dead Trigger gameplay. The game is amazing and the response to reflexes is quick. Because of the Tegra 3 enhancements, everything looks so vivid and life-like….err dead-like.

Conclusion

Do try out these games on your Android device running Tegra chips. If you are confused which one of them you should try out first, Riptide GP is my personal favorite on the list and you could buy that to begin with. Don’t forget to share which one’s yours.
