The Jaybird Vista earphones succeed the controversial Jaybird Run. Like most Jaybird earphones, these are also designed for long-distance running or to be used during strenuous exercise. On the other hand, we have the Elite 75t, which succeeds the popular Jabra Elite 65t. And like its predecessor, it packs several enticing features. Like most earphones, there are many common and plenty of unique features in both the earphones. And in this post, we will explore the differences between the Jabra Elite 75t and the Jaybird Vista truly wireless earphones.
1. Build and Comfort: IP-Rating and Fit
Let’s start with the fit first. Well, for starters, the fit of the Elite 75t is exceptional. Jabra has reworked on the design of the buds for they are sleeker and slimmer. They fit neatly into the canal of the ear and don’t come out easily even if you run or bounce. But at the end of the day, these are not designed for the gym. Instead, they are more for casual listening. But to be on the safe side, these are IP55-rated buds meaning they are safe to withstand sprays and low-pressure water jet spray and from dust as well. Similar to the one above, the Jaybird Vista buds are also light and compact. Both these qualities make them light on your ears. And unlike the one above, these buds have fins on the upper portion. These tiny fins make it easy to anchor the buds. The good part is that the compact profile gives the earphones a discreet look, meaning they do not pop out from your ears. At the same time, these are IPX7-rated buds, and are ideal for using in the gym. The folks at Toms Guide took the buds out for a run, and they continued to work as advertised even with their run-in with water and sweat.
Bluetooth Connectivity
If you recollect, the Jaybird RunXT earned a lot of flake for their bad connection. Thankfully, all those are things of the past. The Vista packages a great connection. Users have experienced far lesser connection drops or the need to repair. However, Jaybird has cut down on one important feature when it comes to user experience. When you take off a bud from the ear, you’ll have to pause the song manually. Yes, the Jaybird Vista doesn’t feature any auto pause mechanism, which makes it a bit annoying to handle these buds. Thankfully, a single tap on the buds will do the trick. On the downside, you will be able to play and pause the music, but you won’t be able to skip tracks. On the other hand, the Elite 75t has a handy auto-pause feature that pauses the music as soon as you pull out one of the buds. And the best thing is that it plays music again if you put it back within 60 seconds. However, there’s a slight catch to this. The 75t doesn’t have the single bud/mono feature on the left earbud. That means the connection is handled only by the right earbud. So, if you plan to listen with only one earbud, you can’t do so with the left earbud. On the upside, the buds let you skip tracks, access your voice assistant, tweak the volume, among others. Also, if you happen to lose the right earbud, you won’t be able to pair to phones or even listen to songs.
2. Battery Life
So far, both the earphones had quite a lot of similarities. But when it comes to battery life, there are some major differences between these two truly wireless earphones. In the case of the Jabra Elite 75t, you get around 7 hours of battery life, with the case providing around three full charges. In short, you get around 28 hours of full battery life. On the other hand, the Vista can churn out around 6 hours of battery life, with the case yielding around 10 hours, meaning you get around 16 hours. The Vista has a decent battery life and can easily last around a week of casual use. However, when compared to the latter, the Elite 75t takes the cake. If you often forget to charge wireless gadgets, you should pick the Elite 75t. The Jabra Elite 75t and the Jaybird Vista doesn’t support wireless charging. But thankfully, both have USB Type-C charging port. That said, only the Jaybird 75t supports quick charging. A mere 5 minutes of charge can get you around an hour’s worth of playback while a full charge takes around two hours.
3. Audio Quality & Noise Cancellation: HearThrough
When it comes to the overall sound signature, the Jabra Elite 75t and the Jaybird Vista are almost at par with each other. As you’d expect, the Jabra Elite 75t and Jaybird Vista have some advantages over each other. For one, the Elite 75t comes with the HearThrough feature, which lets you stay aware of the ambient surroundings. That is handy when you are traveling or when you need to carry on conversations with your office colleagues. And the best thing is that it can be enabled both from the app or through a simple tap on the left earbud. On top of that, these wireless buds feature Sony custom HD noise-canceling processor to mask ambient noise during calls. As a result of it, phone calls appear crisp and clear. The companion app of the Vista bundles a few handy features such as EQ presets, Find my buds, and the option to save custom presets. However, it doesn’t come with built-in ambient noise features.
Calculated Choice
When it comes to choosing a pair of earphones, set your priorities first. If you are looking for a pair of premium earphones for a little more than casual listening, you can opt for the Elite 75t. They sound great (they really do) with deep and rich bass. And the connection is pretty good with phones and laptops. On top of that, you get a great fit and equally impressive battery life. However, should you want to pair them with your smartwatch, you’ll be in for some disappointment since the Elite 75t tends to cut off frequently. On the other hand, the Jaybird Vista is designed for the gym, and they tend to shine in that area. They are almost waterproof, and the snug fit ensures minimal distraction from ambient noise. Though the Elite 75t looks great, the choice is ultimately yours. If you are willing to spend a few bucks on a premium earphones with solid audio output, the Elite 75T is the one for you.
