Keeping that in mind, it’s quite important to remove audio from video files directly using the smartphones. Now, there are some video editors available for both, Android and iOS. But in this post, I will be talking about apps that are just designed to remove audio from a video and nothing else. Why order an entire buffet when you just want the desserts? So let’s take a look at the apps to mute audio for Android and iOS
Apps for Android
As an Android fanboy, I will take these up first.
1. Video Mute by RP Developers
As the name of both the apps is similar, I am including their developer’s name so that you know which app to download. Now talking about the Video Mute app, it might not look encouraging when it comes to design. Tap on the Start button to load a video and once it’s loaded, all you need to do is tap on the Mute Audio button. That’s all, the video will then be processed and you will be shown a preview. If you like it, tap on the Share option and select the Save to SD Card option using your file manager to save the video. The app is free to download and the output video quality is also on par, but you have to deal with ads on the app.
2. Video Mute by Android Pixels
Video Mute by Android Pixels is similar to the previous app but gives a few more options while muting the video. After you load a video, you will have to select the duration to edit and by default it’s the first 15 seconds. You can also choose to reduce the video if you don’t want to mute it entirely. Once done, the process is same. You get the option to save the video to share it to social media.
Apps for iOS
Let’s now take up two apps you can use on iOS to mute videos.
1. Video Mute for iOS
Yes, the third app with the very same name. Video Mute for iOS is very simple to use. The moment you launch the app, it will ask you to grant the permission to access photos on your iPhone. Having done that, all you need to do is select the video and open the editor. On the editing screen, reduce the volume and tap on the save button to process the video. Now just wait for the app to process the video and once done, it will be saved to your camera roll. The app is also free to use with ads, but the ads are way less obtrusive than the Android version.
2. Mutebot for iOS
Finally, moving on to the last app in the list, we have Mutebot. The best app in the list when it comes to design and time taken to process a given video. But the app leaves a watermark on videos once they are processed and saved. The watermark along with high-quality video files can be unlocked for a small in-app purchase and I would only advise you to go for it if you need to mute videos on a regular basis.
Conclusion
Those were some of the apps you can use on Android and iOS and mute the videos before sharing them on social media. I am pretty sure the iOS apps are way better. But, if you know better apps for Android with a nice interface and fewer ads, don’t forget to share those with us. The above article may contain affiliate links which help support Guiding Tech.
